Bodelwyddan Castle
Rhyl, Denbighshire, LL18 5YA.
There are three rooms available for civil marriage ceremonies at Bodelwyddan Castle. Set in magnificent parkland, the Castle houses nationally important collections of fine and decorative art from the National Portrait Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum and Royal Academy.
The
Sculpture Gallery houses some of the finest sculptures produced by 19th Century neoclassical sculptor John Gibson as well as portraits from the National Portrait Gallery Victorian collection. A magnificent vaulted ceiling and finely decorated fireplace add to the sumptuous decor that includes hand woven curtains in the Victorian style. The room will seat 80-90 guests and includes a beautiful Steinway Grand Piano that can be played before and after the wedding ceremony.
The
Ladies Drawing Room is a particular favourite amongst the visitors to the Castle. While small (no more than 35 guests can be accommodated) it has a particular charm representing as it does the lighter early Victorian period. Portraits presented in this room include one of Florence Nightingale while several others once hung in the Novello family home in Italy. The yellow wall coverings and embroidered hangings provide the perfect backdrop for the portraits. At one end of the room, a large bay window provides views over the Castle's rolling parkland.
